MEDICAL CHART: (PATIENT 1)

PATIENT'S NAME: Pepe Roni
SYMPTOMS: Bad tast in mouth, chest pains and heart burn.
DIAGNOSIS: G.E.R.D. A.K.A. Gastroesophagel reflux disese.
TREATMENT: To treat G.E.R.D. you must drink medicine for a special x-ray, you can take a P.H. probe study, a milk scan for refluxes and a upper endoscopy.
PROGNOSIS: Some advice for my patient is, not to eat pizza or spicy foods before bed also drink alclohal in moderation.

  • When food hits the stomach, mucus keeps it moist.

QUESTION: Your two kidneys are part of the urinary system. The kidneys filter waste from your blood. Why are the kidneys one of the most important organs in the body? Can people live with only one kidney? If the kidneys are not functioning properly people can be hooked to a dialysis machine to filter their blood 3 times a week. Why does your blood need to be filtered?

YOUR ANSWER:
The kidneys are important because it fliters out poisons from the bloodstream and gets rid of extra water and salt. People can stilln live even with one kidney. The blood needs to be filtered because the kidneys get rid of poisons, extra water, and salt.
LEADER REFLECTION:

The challenge was simple. We worked well as a team. This was fun for the whole group. We had some troubles,
but we made it through.
